This Privacy Policy explains how Swarayu Wellness Clinic ("Swarayu", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you visit www.swarayu.com ("the Website") or engage with us for consultations, programs, or communications.

  • The Information Technology Act, 2000
  • The Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 (the "IT Rules 2011")
  • The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (to the extent applicable)

1. Who we are

Swarayu Wellness Clinic is a doctor-led Ayurvedic and clinical nutrition practice based in Bangalore, India. It is operated by Dr. Swarnalatha Chandhran, Ayurvedic physician and clinical nutritionist.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information required to respond to your enquiry, provide you with medical consultations, and run our programs. This may include:

  • Contact information — name, email address, phone number, and location (when you fill our contact form, email us, or book a consultation).
  • Medical and health information — case history, symptoms, current medications, reports, lifestyle details, menstrual history (where relevant), and any other information you voluntarily share to receive medical advice. This is classified as "Sensitive Personal Data or Information" (SPDI) under Rule 3 of the IT Rules 2011.
  • Transaction information — consultation fees, invoice details (we do not store card or UPI credentials; these are processed by third-party payment providers).
  • Website usage data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on each page, through cookies and standard server logs / analytics. See Section 7.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Provide Ayurvedic and nutrition consultations, including preparation of treatment plans and follow-ups
  • Respond to your enquiries, appointment requests, and messages
  • Send appointment reminders, consultation notes, and program-related communication
  • Maintain medical records as required by professional practice and applicable law
  • Improve the Website and our service quality
  • Comply with legal obligations (including under the IT Act, IT Rules, and applicable healthcare and AYUSH regulations)

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

4. Legal basis and consent

By sharing your information with us — through the Website, by email, or in a consultation — you consent to the collection, storage, and use of that information for the purposes set out above, in accordance with Rule 5 of the IT Rules 2011. You have the right to withdraw your consent in writing at any time (see Section 9). Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide certain services, such as continued medical consultations.

5. Sharing of information

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • With service providers acting on our behalf (such as hosting providers, email providers, and payment gateways), strictly for the purposes listed in Section 3, and under confidentiality obligations.
  • With other healthcare professionals — only when necessary for your care and with your consent (for example, to coordinate with your gynaecologist or endocrinologist).
  • When required by law — in response to a lawful request from a government or judicial authority, or to establish or defend legal claims.

6. Data retention

Medical records are retained for a minimum period as required by applicable professional and legal standards. Non-medical contact information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

7. Cookies and analytics

The Website uses essential cookies for basic functionality (such as remembering your light/dark theme preference). We may also use privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand how pages are used in aggregate. These tools do not identify you personally. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some Website features may not work without them.

8. Security

We implement reasonable security practices and procedures commensurate with the information held, in line with Rule 8 of the IT Rules 2011. These include access controls, encrypted transmission (HTTPS), secure storage of medical records, and employee confidentiality obligations. However, no internet-based service can be guaranteed 100% secure, and you share information at your own risk.

9. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct or update inaccurate or outdated information
  • Request that we delete your information (subject to our legal and medical-record retention obligations)
  • Withdraw consent for processing where processing is based on consent
  • Raise a grievance regarding any processing of your personal information

To exercise any of these rights, contact our Grievance Officer (Section 11). We will respond within the timelines prescribed by applicable law.

10. Children's privacy

The Website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the age of 18 without the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. Paediatric and adolescent consultations at Swarayu are always conducted with parental consent and involvement.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes will, where reasonably possible, be highlighted on the Website.

13. Governing law & jurisdiction

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Disputes arising under it are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Bangalore, Karnataka.
